200,000 SF phased full remodel tenant improvement. Eight total floors between two adjacent buildings. The project will be completed in three to four phases to meet the client’s needs in order to meet global corporate separation of Symantec / Veritas. Significant value engineering exercises were required to stay on budget while maintaining client expectations. First phase includes five floors (~100,000 SF) including “vertical hub” area with new communicating stair / atrium. Significant slab and steel demo and structural upgrades to support “vertical hub” area. Upgrades main HVAC shafts, ducting and fire smoke dampers. Remaining phases include additional office spaces, amenities areas and executive briefing center. Project is one of the first in the Bay Area seeking Well Building Certification.
334,000 SF of Tenant Improvement in two separate buildings totaling 10 floors. The scope of work included, pre-construction, MEP design-build, demolition, new construction, finishes, carpentry, and extensive on-site supervision. Included in the scope was a full service cafeteria, conference rooms, meeting areas, and an open floor plan office space.
50,000 SF project over two floors, including shared common amenities including break areas, conference rooms and focus spaces used by Malwarebytes staff. The project also included meeting rooms, a full service kitchen, all-hands meeting space, break/pantry areas, lounge spaces, and other special use areas including a large interconnected stairway. The primary goal was to provide Malwarebytes a new facility to meet its expanding needs in a design commensurate with their image. NOVO provided all pre-construction services, demolition, new construction, finishes, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing solutions.
300,000 SF of manufacturing facility space for Flextronics Austin Campus. Construction included offices labs, surface-mout technology lines, run-in areas, CNC machining, anodizing/etch lines (largest anodizing capacity in Texas), final assembly, testing area, packaging space, serverrooms and shipping/receiving areas. Other units of the manufacturing facility included relocation of ISO & and ISO 8 cleanrooms followed by demolition of old chemical baths and other areas.
Mike has 28 years experience in the construction industry. With a BS in Building Construction from Texas A&M, Mike has held increasingly responsible positions on a variety of projects ranging from tenant improvements to technical and complex, multimillion high-tech projects. Responsibilities include value engineering, budgets, negotiation, cost controls, and scheduling.
Mike is responsible for firm-wide day-to-day operations management, including client support, project staffing, employee recruiting, corporate accounts and resource management. His responsibilities at NOVO have included both project and people management. Mike holds a LEED accreditation and is a member of CoreNet and ISPE.
